A while ago I started getting burned out because of a daily writing habit.
But writing helps me connect with my thoughts and feelings.
And it allows me to express myself in a more authentic and meaningful way.
So I wanted to go back to writing daily so badly.
Then I found a simple practice that changed my writing game.
It’s a practice that involves focusing your attention on the present moment while you’re writing.
Here’s what you need to do.
- Choose a quiet and distraction-free space to write.
- Set a timer for 15–20 minutes.
- Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
- Bring your attention to the present moment.
- Start writing whatever comes to mind, without judgment.
- Don’t worry about spelling, grammar, or punctuation.
- Just keep writing until the timer goes off.
