Hi there, friend. This is already Day 6 of the 10-Day Medium Success Challenge Without Membership. I’m genuinely happy to see that you’re sticking with me. So thank you for that! My number one tip for succes on Medium must be connecting with the Medium community.

So far I experienced Medium like a big, friendly neighborhood where writers come together and share their thoughts. And just like in any neighborhood, it’s all about making connections and building relationships. In this article I’ll share some tips on how to do that and make your Medium journey even more rewarding.

I created my own little café in this neighbourhood. Grab a cup of coffee (or tea, if you prefer!), and let’s have a heart-to-heart about connecting with the people around us.

6 Simple Steps

  1. Share Your Thoughts

You know when you read something cool and useful and you just have to talk about it? That’s what writers do here. Leave comments on articles you like. It’s like chatting with a buddy about a good book. Make sure to leave people with the thought: ‘wauw I’ve never thought of it like this before’.

2. Highlight and Share Gems

Ever found a sentence that made you nod in agreement? Highlight it and show it off on your profile. It’s like sharing a quote you love with your real life friends.

3. Discover Medium’s Groups

Medium has these nice groups where people chat about their favorite topics. You can compare it with joining a club where you feel right at home. Yesterday someone told me that it will even get you more readers if you do this, so that’s a win-win.

4. Reply to Comments

If someone leaves a note on your article, why not reply? It’s like replying to a text message. It can lead to some great conversations. This is also something I experienced myself like yesterday! I even learned a few new things from this conversation that I implemented in this article.

5. Tell Your Other Friends

Don’t forget your friends on other social media like Facebook and Instagram. I’m sure they would love to read your stories too. Share your Medium articles there. They might even start writing too and become your new writing buddies.

6. Team Up and Shine together

Ever worked on a project with a friend? Team up with another writer and create something together. Also, let me know if you are interested to partner up with me!

Medium is about more than just writing; it’s about connecting with people. Just like planting seeds in your garden, every little interaction you have here can grow into something wonderful. So, let’s keep sharing, and growing together.

Stay tuned for Day 7, where I will share some great tips about writing catchy headlines.
